Phil. 2:15-16 MSG

“Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society.
Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God. Carry the light-giving Message into the night.”
Phil. 2:15-16 MSG

Seeking Our Savior

What does Jesus eat?
How tall is he?
Why can’t we see him?
How can he take care of all these people in the world?

These are only a few of the questions that our little boy asks all the time about Jesus.  We aren’t always able to answer him and even when we do, it only leads him to more questions.  What I recently noticed is the heart behind his questioning.  He knows Jesus lives in his heart and that he is important.  He recognizes that Jesus is a part of our every day life.  He asks questions because his tender heart longs to know and understand his Savior.

I believe that most adults think they have a grasp of who Jesus is.  Some even decide that the Jesus they think they know isn’t worth following.  It’s a tragedy when we allow ourselves to become satisfied in our knowledge of Christ.  Scripture tells us to become like little children.  “And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”  Matthew 18:3  When a child can’t wrap his/her mind around something, they seek understanding.  We are to seek God with all of our hearts.  “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13 The dictionary defines the word seek like this: search for, pursue, go after, ask for.

Jesus is so much more than our minds are able to comprehend.  He is able to do “exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20)!  We need to be consistently pursuing our Savior.  We need to go after him and ask for him each and every day of our lives.
